Opened in May 2018, Lina’s is a café concept by a brother and sister duo Eddie and Denise Salinas. Our goal was to create an every-day gathering spot in the neighborhood of Niles, not far from where we grew up in Morton Grove, that offered a variety of treats in a welcoming atmosphere. We chose a self-serve shop because we believe in giving our customers the tools to cultivate their own creativity—whether you want to dress it up or dress it down, go non-dairy or mix it up—You are the creator. We also chose to partner with Dark Matter Coffee, a Chicago-based roastery—because they pride themselves in thinking differently, a mindset that we also believe in. Come into our small shop and you will find traces of our Filipino and Mexican heritage, toppings and flavors that introduce you to a different culture, and the hospitality of a family-style service.
